Dr. Veerapol Khemarangsan, Chief Executive Officer of MEDEZE Group Public Company Limited (MEDEZE), stated that stem cell storage remains crucial, especially for newborns, as it provides cells with the highest efficiency, strength, and readiness for future use. With advancements in medical innovation and recognized research supporting its therapeutic applications, a report from the Global Cord Blood and Tissue Banking Industry indicated that there are between 3,000 and 5,000 clinical trials on cord blood research conducted annually, with over 500 studies annually for cord tissue research. Furthermore, the demand for stem cell storage continues to rise, with growth rates of 1%, 3%, 4%, and 6% in the newborn population each year in China, the United States, Europe, and Japan, respectively.
Currently, the global distribution of stem cell banks is 14% public and 86% private. In the United States, there are 25 public stem cell banks and 16 private ones, while in Europe, there are 25 public stem cell banks. MEDEZE is the only stem cell bank in Thailand. With its continuous high-quality service and steady, consistent growth adhering to international standards, MEDEZE has received the Frost & Sullivan Award and the "Industry Champions of the Year" award from Asia Corporate Excellence & Sustainability (ACES) this year.
Ms. Areeya Anantwararak, Legal Advisor at SCL Nishimura & Asahi Co., Ltd., in her capacity as the legal advisor for MEDEZE, further disclosed legal information and risk management regarding compliance with announcements, regulations, laws, and the enforcement of the draft bill on cell therapy. She stated that MEDEZE operates in the business of analyzing, separating, cultivating, and storing stem cells, as well as evaluating the potential of immune cells, under the laws related to these activities, including the draft bill on cell therapy and cell bank standards. MEDEZE is fully aware of the importance of complying with the relevant laws and has adhered strictly to the applicable guidelines. The company also has measures in place to ensure that its advertising does not use misleading or exaggerated claims, nor false information that could deceive individuals into using its services. Additionally, MEDEZE is preparing for the necessary actions should the draft bill on cell therapy be officially enforced in the future.

For the nine-month period of 2024, the company reported total revenue of 630 million baht, an increase of 22%, and a net profit of 240 million baht, a 30% increase. The net profit margin stands at 38%, mainly due to the growth in its customer base and cost reduction through the use of the Quantum automatic stem cell expansion system, which supports the work of medical professionals.
