MEDEZE Makes History with 10 Consecutive Years of Recognition from Frost & Sullivan, Named 2026 Southeast Asian Stem Cell Banking and Regenerative Medicine Company of the Year
Medeze Group has been named the 2026 Company of the Year by Frost & Sullivan, reaffirming its position as a regional industry leader. The recognition marks the Company’s tenth consecutive year of receiving accolades from Frost & Sullivan between 2017 and 2026 in Southeast Asia’s stem cell banking and regenerative medicine industry. It reflects MEDEZE’s excellence in innovation, business capabilities, and the development of a fully integrated regenerative medicine platform. The Company is advancing its transformation from a “Biobank” to a “Biopharma” business while expanding its regional network. MEDEZE has also been selected as a private-sector participant in Thailand’s Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products Sandbox, or ATMP Sandbox.
Dr. Veerapol Khemarangsan Chief Executive Officer of Medeze Group Public Company Limited (MEDEZE), revealed that Frost & Sullivan has named the Company the “2026 Southeast Asian Stem Cell Banking and Regenerative Medicine Company of the Year.” This achievement reflects MEDEZE’s leadership in innovation, outstanding business performance, and commitment to advancing Thailand’s regenerative medicine industry to the regional level.
The recognition was based on Frost & Sullivan’s rigorous market research and analysis process, which evaluated excellence across multiple dimensions, including responsiveness to market needs, visionary innovation, industry leadership, the implementation of best practices, business performance, customer value, and brand strength.
For more than 15 years, MEDEZE has provided stem cell banking services for over 52,000 cases through a network of more than 200 hospitals and service locations in Thailand and overseas. Its services encompass the banking of stem cells derived from umbilical cord blood and tissue, adipose tissue, and hair follicles, as well as services related to natural killer cells, or NK cells.
The Company is also transforming its biobanking business into a fully integrated regenerative medicine and biopharmaceutical platform. MEDEZE has invested in automated cell culture technology to enhance precision, consistency, and production scalability. It is also preparing to meet Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements for the production of adipose-derived stem cells, building upon its internationally recognised quality infrastructure, including accreditation from the Association for the Advancement of Blood & Biotherapies (AABB) and ISO 9001 certification.
Another key mechanism supporting the Company’s strategy is the establishment of GPO MEDEZE Empower, a collaboration among the Government Pharmaceutical Organization (GPO), MEDEZE, and Cretan Associates, with an initial registered capital of THB 105 million.
The joint venture aims to develop domestic capabilities for manufacturing liquid cell culture media in compliance with GMP standards, reduce reliance on imports, strengthen supply-chain security, and support Thailand’s research and development in cell therapy. Its planned production capacity will serve both the domestic and export markets.
MEDEZE has also been selected as a private-sector participant in Thailand’s Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products Sandbox, or ATMP Sandbox, to advance research on advanced therapy medicinal products towards clinical applications.
The initiative will explore the use of patients’ own adipose-derived stem cells in the management of knee osteoarthritis and skin degeneration under a regulatory framework governing quality, safety, and efficacy. The initial development and real-world testing will cover three major disease areas: degenerative disc disease; dermatological conditions and anti-ageing applications; and colorectal cancer.
Regarding its international expansion, the Company has established a service presence in several countries, including Vietnam, Indonesia, Singapore, Cambodia, and Myanmar. It also plans to establish a stem cell banking business in the Philippines and is exploring expansion into Mongolia.
MEDEZE aims to enter an average of one new market per year through a franchise model, enabling the Company to transfer its operating standards, technologies, and service expertise to markets across the region.
“This achievement is not merely an award for the Company; it also represents another important milestone for Thailand’s biotechnology and regenerative medicine industries. MEDEZE will continue to develop the necessary knowledge, technologies, and infrastructure while fostering collaboration with government agencies, hospitals, universities, and business partners.
“Our goal is to help establish Thailand as one of Southeast Asia’s leading hubs for regenerative medicine and biopharmaceuticals, while expanding public access to high-quality medical innovations that meet recognised standards in the future,” Dr. Veerapol said.
For individuals seeking a trusted stem cell bank, MEDEZE offers a clear answer through its internationally recognised ISO 9001:2015 certification and AABB accreditation, supported by proven technologies such as the AXP AutoXpress® Platform and cryopreservation technology.
These technologies ensure precision and safety throughout every stage of cell processing and storage. MEDEZE’s services cover umbilical cord blood, umbilical cord tissue, adipose tissue, hair follicles, and NK cells, providing a comprehensive range of options to support diverse long-term healthcare plans.
